Board of Directors

Zia has been a Neuro ICU RN for the past 5+ years. She is involved in multiple hospital committees and is currently a member of the CNRN Test Development Taskforce. She has a passion for education and loves to mentor/teach new nurses all about neuroscience!

Shannon has been a nurse for almost 9 years, all of which has been spent in neuroscience nursing at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix - one and a half years in Neuro-Trauma PCU and then the most recent 7 and a half years in Neurosurgical ICU! In addition to serving ABNN as a member of the SCRN Test Development Committee, her passion is in mentoring new nurses and getting everyone excited about neuroscience as a nursing specialty. As a previous Southwest Synapse Annual Conference Grant recipient, she is familiar with the direct benefit of membership in this organization and ABNN! Shannon is looking forward to helping to expand Southwest Synapse in both membership and events put on by the organization!

Spencer currently works as Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner but prior to this was a  Neuro ICU RN for 4.5 years. He has a passion for neuroscience nursing along with education and expanding the knowledge of neuro and all it has to offer! He has been actively involved in AANN as the Board Mentee for the 2022-2023 term and is currently also serving on the Annual Planning Committee. 

Stephanie is a Neuro ICU RN and has been a nurse for the past 2 years! She is newer to AANN but is very excited to get involved and start spreading the word about neuroscience nursing! 

Sarah currently works as a Neuro ICU RN. She has been a nurse for 16+ years with experience in CVICU, Medsurg/Tele, Neuro, and Management. She is involved in many committees at her hospital and is currently on the AANN CNRN Test Development Committee. She was recently re-elected for a second term as the Treasurer for Southwest Synapse!
